Note: If you don’t currently have a primary care provider (doctor or nurse practitioner), please see more information here.
Primary care is the foundation of a strong and accessible health system. It is often the first point of contact for patients, providing ongoing, comprehensive, and coordinated care for people of all ages and health needs.
In Ontario, strengthening primary care access has been identified as a top health priority by Dr. Jane Philpott, Chair of the Ontario Health Team Council. Ensuring that every individual and family can connect with a primary care provider is central to improving health outcomes, reducing hospital pressures, and creating a more seamless care experience.
The All Nations Health Partners Ontario Health Team (ANHP OHT) is committed to advancing this provincial priority across the Kenora region, enabling better access to primary care for everyone. This collaborative approach helps ensure care is more connected, culturally safe, and responsive to community needs.
Primary Care Clinics are operated by three of the ANHP OHT community partners:
Kenora Chiefs Advisory Ogimaawabiitong
Sunset Country Family Health Team
Waasegiizhig Nanaandawe’iyewigamig
Kenora Chiefs Advisory is committed and dedicated to providing culturally appropriate health and social services which address the needs and enhance the wellbeing and capacity of community members in our affiliated First Nations.
Ogimaawabiitong (Kenora Chiefs Advisory) maintains a culture which recognizes and values ethical conduct through the 7 Sacred Teachings. Culture remains at the centre of the work Ogimaawabiitong does and is identified as an important determinant of health and wellness. Ogimaawabiitong works to enhance service coordination among various systems and deliver culturally safe services to create a pathway towards healing and wellness for our communities and members.
