Trying to access to mental health and addictions services can be frustrating and overwhelming for patients, families and providers. The current system is siloed and not efficient.
The ANHP OHT Mental Health and Addictions Working Group is working together to improve this situation and to offer the best care possible.
The Mental Health and Addictions working group’s role is to develop an integrated and responsive network of services that will support children, adolescents, and adults experiencing a mental health crisis in the Kenora area. The system needs to ensure ease of access, responsive service times and collaborative, warm, facilitated referrals between service providers.
The working group uses population health planning principles to identify patient segmentation and service implementation improvements and creates common performance indicators and shared information to inform and advance meaningful change for those living with mental health and addictions in our defined area.
The MHA Working Group is working to standardize and monitor the quality and delivery of evidence-based services and clinical care across our region.
Having a connected system of care for mental health and addictions:
People of all ages from across the Kenora region who are in need will have equitable access to mental health and/or addictions services.
Supports will be provided and care will be seamlessly integrated with other care providers.
It will be a holistic health care approach.
Providers will work together on effective and lasting ways to support and serve those in need.
