All Nations Health Partners Ontario Health Team Honours the Memory of Chief Lorraine Cobiness

November 20, 2025 – KENORA, ON — The All Nations Health Partners Ontario Health Team (ANHP OHT) extends its deepest condolences to the family and friends of Chief Lorraine Cobiness, and to the community of Niisaachewan Anishinaabe Nation, on her recent passing.

Chief Cobiness, who served her community with distinction across nine terms, was known for her unwavering dedication, courageous leadership, and steadfast advocacy for the well-being of her people. Her work strengthened not only Niisaachewan Anishinaabe Nation, but the broader network of First Nations across the region. Her wisdom, guidance, generosity, and powerful determination have left a lasting imprint across Treaty Three territory, the Kenora region, and the province of Ontario.

Chief Cobiness was a tireless supporter and influential leader within the All Nations Health Partners, playing a vital role at the Leadership Table and contributing her voice, expertise, and lived experience across multiple working groups. Her leadership helped advance critical efforts in health system transformation, shaping more integrated, culturally grounded, and community-driven care for all people across the ANHP OHT.

As the Niisaachewan Anishinaabe Nation grieves this profound loss, the ANHP OHT stands in solidarity and honours the remarkable legacy Chief Cobiness leaves behind. We extend our sincere sympathies to her family, her community, and all those mourning her passing.
