The Ontario government is investing $9 million over three years in the Improving Dementia Care Program (IDCP) to enhance care for residents with dementia in long-term care homes. This program focuses on emotion-based models of care, fostering strong relationships between staff and residents.
Supported by training initiatives, the IDCP aims to serve 1,800 individuals in its first year. Long-term care homes can apply through their Ontario Health regional office. This effort is part of a larger strategy to improve healthcare quality and access across the province.
